Located: 1356 Greenwood Road, Alger, MI 48610Cole Canoe Base is constantly re-inventing ways to keep todays ever changing youth active in the outdoors. Our program is "High Adventure for the 21st Century."Providing activities for the Scout that is new to the program all the way up to Venturers and Sea Scouts that "Have tried everything." Our camp parallels programs found at national Boy Scout camps for a fraction of the price. Cole boasts a 98% unit return rate, one of the highest in the nation. As an "A rated" nationally accredited camp since it was renamed over 30 years ago, Cole Canoe Base strives for one thing and one thing only: Safe, Quality, Fun Filled Programming! Units looking for more adventure will enjoy weekend camping at Cole Canoe Base. Cole Canoe Base is located approximately 3 hours north of Detroit near Alger, Michigan. Nestled next to the beautiful Rifle River. Cole Canoe Base has 14 tent sites and 1 winterized cabin (White Pines--a 24 capacity) that are available to rent for off season camping. Campsite fee per tent site applies even if you are not canoeing. *White Pines:This beautiful cabin includes cooking facilities, sleeping for 24 (in 2 bunk rooms of 12), 2 seperate toilet and shower facilities inside and an atomsphere that is north country lodge. Come north and try this great facility. This cabin can be reserved for weekends in September through the first week in June, except for weekends that occur during November 15 through the 30. All refund requests must be made in writing prior to the event and submitted to one of the Great Lakes Council offices.
Refunds may be subject to an administrative fee and some deposits are non-refundable. Details can be found under each activity sign-up page.
