Mushroom Hunting and Fishing Weekend
Do you want to learn about edible mushrooms that grow in Michigan? Here is your chance to hunt for mushrooms at Lost Lake Scout Reservation and to learn which are edible and which are not. Learn the where to look for morels and beef steaks, how to care for them and how to prepare them for the table. Do you want to learn how to catch pan fish or where the big bass lurk in Lost Lake? Come up on this special weekend and learn from an expert where to look for fish, techniques for catching them and how to fillet them for eating (bass are catch and release). Both of these unique programs are available on the same weekend. You can participate in both or choose just one; it is entirely up to you. Wear comfortable walking clothes and be prepared for cool and wet weather. A plastic bag, grocery sack, is recommended for mushroom picking.
