What is the Great American Get-Away?

The Great American Get-A-Way is a fun filled 3 night / 3 day weekend of Scouting activities for the entire family. During the course of the weekend, families will have to the opportunity use all of Lost Lake’s facilities, just like the Boy Scouts do during summer camp.

What is the great thing about the weekend? There are no schedules! Show up to just about any event, at any time, and you will be able to use the facilities. All activities are staffed by qualified, and trained personnel, that have given of their time, to provide a quality program for your enjoyment. Program starts promptly on Saturday morning for all to enjoy.

Don’t want to do your cooking? Or only want to cook a couple of your meals? That is a great! We can handle that for you. For a small fee, our qualified staff will handle all the cooking for you. The next great thing about the weekend? You do not have to attend the entire weekend. While the camp is open to check in starting at 4:00 pm on Friday, and Check out on Monday is by 12 noon, you do not have to stay the entire weekend. If you rent a cabin, you are responsible for the fees for all three nights.

Who can attend?

Entire families, not just Scouts and parents, bring along grandparents, older and younger siblings, pets (on leash and with immunization records), best friends and their families and other relatives who enjoy the great outdoors.

When and where?

The weekends always happen on Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend at Lost Lake Scout Reservation in Lake, MI. (Located just North of Clare, MI.)
