Howdy Folks! We're looking for some youth athat would like to learn what life is like for a "ranch hand." But this is no program for the timid, or a "pilgrim," as John Wayne woudl say. You'll get hard tack, hard work, and a whole lot of fun along the way.

You'll help to tend a herd of horses and long horn cattle, and even get to care for those "ornery" critters.

You will participate in a cattle drive at the end of the week. We will teach you how to rope & ride and even vet the critters. You will get to work along side the ranch staff on the 1700 acre farm. You will learn to bend and weld metal, work on farm machinery, and do repairs around the ranch.

This week will help you earn the horsemanship, veterinary medicine and farm mechanics merit badges.

Other than than at D-bar-A Scout Ranch, you can't experience anything like this at any other Scout camp east of the Mississippi.

Participants should be at least 13 years of age and First Class, and have some riding and camping experience. After all, this is a provisional type of outing. The ranch provides all of your needs, including food, except your personal camping gear.
